Selling guides

Etsy tags, title and description from your photos

Etsy gives you 13 tags of up to 20 characters each. Most sellers waste them on single words. Multi-word phrases that match how buyers search work much better.

Using all 13 tags

• Use phrases: "boho wall hanging" rather than "boho" and "wall" separately.
• Cover who it's for and the occasion: "gift for her", "housewarming gift".
• Include materials, style and colour, which buyers often search by.
• Don't repeat your category. Etsy already uses it.

Is your item allowed on Etsy?

Etsy only allows handmade items, vintage items at least 20 years old, and craft supplies. ListingLift warns you when an item doesn't look eligible.
